Keno operating hours and the new liquor laws

Monday, August 1, 2016 Galaxy Training Australia

Keno operations at your venue are linked to your liquor licence trading hours.

The times you can offer Keno at your venue are the same as your approved liquor consumption hours.

It is important you understand that since the reduced liquor trading hours commenced on 1 July 2016, the hours you offer Keno at your venue may have been impacted.

If you are located outside a Safe Night Precinct:

  • the latest time you can serve alcohol is 2am
  • patrons have 30 minutes after last drinks are called to finish their drinks, which means you can offer Keno until 2.30am.

If you are located inside a Safe Night Precinct:

  • the latest time you can serve alcohol is 3am
  • patrons have 30 minutes after last drinks are called to finish their drinks, which means you can offer Keno until 3.30am.

You can only offer Keno until these times if your current approved liquor trading hours allow you to. For example, if you are currently approved to sell liquor until 1am the changes do not mean your trading hours for liquor or Keno are now extended.
