What is an NSW RSA Competency Card?

To obtain an NSW RSA photo competency card, present your interim certificate to a Service NSW Centre and complete a 100 point identification check. Service NSW will send your card to your nominated address via mail within four weeks.

The photo competency card is a plastic card, similar to a driver's licence and valid for five years.

Digital Competency Cards

You can obtain a digital competency card when you visit the Service NSW Centre for an ID check.

The digital version of the photo competency card makes it easier to carry, display, update and renew a licence using a smartphone or tablet.

If you have a digital competency card you don't need to carry a photo card.

Note: If you are new to the liquor industry or returning to a job requiring RSA competency after five years, you must complete a full training course.
